National Law Students Forum 2011
Fully Booked
22-23 June 2011
The Copthorne Hotel, Birmingham
This event aimed to establish a self-sustaining student run network for the future, building on the success of the pilot National Law Students Forum in 2010. 50 law student representatives from different institutions attended, along with a small number of staff to facilitate the event.
Presentations are available and a report from the event, including plans for the future, will be available shortly.
The event demonstrated how students can actively develop their contribution to the learning process. Facilitated sessions sought to:
- improve the way students engage with the Staff Student Consultative procedure
- promote more effective representation of student views within their law schools
- demonstrate examples of good teaching practice, including skills development
- establish an organisational framework for a future National Law Student Forum.
The event involved sharing practice and experience and students moulded the format of the event. Students learnt about what happens in other institutions and participated in the evaluation process.
